Managing Your Profile

Your MSTRJK profile is your identity on the platform. This guide covers everything you can customize and manage.

Accessing Profile Settings

  1. Log into your account
  2. Click your profile icon in the navigation
  3. Select "Profile" or "Settings"
  4. You're now in your profile management area

Display Name

What is a Display Name?

  • The name shown on your profile and comments
  • Can be changed anytime (unlike username)
  • Can include spaces and most characters
  • Visible to all users

Changing Your Display Name

  1. Go to Profile Settings
  2. Find the "Display Name" field
  3. Enter your new display name
  4. Click "Save Changes"

Note: Your username (used for login) cannot be changed. Only your display name can be updated.

Profile Picture

Upload Requirements

  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, GIF
  • Maximum file size: 5MB
  • Recommended dimensions: 400x400 pixels or larger
  • Square images work best

Uploading a Profile Picture

  1. Go to Profile Settings
  2. Click "Upload Profile Picture" or the camera icon
  3. Select your image file
  4. Crop or adjust if needed
  5. Click "Save"

Tips:

  • Use a clear, recognizable image
  • Square images display best
  • High-resolution images look better

Removing Your Profile Picture

  1. Go to Profile Settings
  2. Click "Remove Picture"
  3. Confirm removal
  4. You'll revert to the default avatar

Bio (About You)

Writing Your Bio

  • Tell people about yourself
  • Markdown supported for formatting
  • Include your interests, music taste, or links
  • Keep it friendly and appropriate

Updating Your Bio

  1. Go to Profile Settings
  2. Find the "Bio" text area
  3. Write or edit your bio
  4. Preview if available
  5. Click "Save Changes"

Changing Your Email

Why Change Your Email?

  • Update contact information
  • Use a more secure email
  • Consolidate accounts

Email Change Process

Important: This is a secure, multi-step process to protect your account.

  1. Go to Profile Settings
  2. Click "Change Email"
  3. Enter your current password (security verification)
  4. Enter your new email address
  5. Click "Send Verification Code"
  6. Check your current email for a 6-digit code
  7. Enter the code to confirm
  8. Your email is now updated!

Security Notes:

  • Verification code expires after 10 minutes
  • You must have access to your current email
  • Can't change to an email already in use

Privacy Settings

Profile Visibility

Choose who can see your profile:

  • Public - Anyone can view your profile
  • Private - Only you can see your full profile

Activity Visibility

Control what others see:

  • Comment history visibility
  • Playlist visibility (if feature available)
  • Activity feed settings

Updating Privacy Settings

  1. Go to Privacy Settings
  2. Toggle each setting
  3. Changes save automatically

Notification Preferences

Email Notifications

Choose which emails you receive:

  • Account security alerts (recommended)
  • Newsletter updates
  • Comment replies
  • Product updates
  • Blog and release announcements

Managing Notifications

  1. Go to Notification Settings
  2. Check/uncheck each notification type
  3. Click "Save Preferences"

Note: Security alerts cannot be disabled for account safety.

Account Security

Changing Your Password

  1. Go to Security Settings
  2. Click "Change Password"
  3. Enter your current password
  4. Enter new password (min 8 characters)
  5. Confirm new password
  6. Click "Update Password"

Password Best Practices

  • Use at least 8 characters (longer is better!)
  • Mix uppercase, lowercase, and numbers
  • Don't reuse passwords from other sites
  • Consider using a password manager

Account Deletion

Permanently Delete Your Account

Warning: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.

What gets deleted:

  • Your profile and account data
  • All comments (authenticated mode)
  • Playlists and favorites
  • Personal information

What remains:

  • Anonymous comments (if you posted any before logging in)
  • Purchase records (required by law for tax purposes)

Deletion Process

  1. Go to Profile Settings
  2. Scroll to "Delete Account"
  3. Click "Delete My Account"
  4. Enter your password to confirm
  5. Read the warning carefully
  6. Click "Permanently Delete"

Grace Period: You may have 14 days to cancel deletion. Contact support immediately if you change your mind.

Viewing Your Profile

Public Profile View

See what others see:

  1. Click "View Public Profile"
  2. This shows your profile as others see it
  3. Check your display name, picture, and bio

Your profile URL is typically:

mstrjk.com/profile/[your-username]

Troubleshooting

Can't upload profile picture

✓ Check file size (max 5MB)
✓ Use JPG, PNG, or GIF only
✓ Try a different browser
✓ Clear browser cache

Email change not working

✓ Check spam folder for verification code
✓ Verify you entered the correct new email
✓ Make sure the code hasn't expired (10 min)
✓ Try resending the code

Changes not saving

✓ Check your internet connection
✓ Click "Save Changes" button
✓ Wait for confirmation message
✓ Refresh and check again
