Creating an Account & Logging In

A MSTRJK account lets you create playlists, comment on tracks, manage your profile, and more. This guide covers everything about accounts and authentication.

Creating a New Account

Step 1: Start Registration

1. Click "Sign Up" in the top navigation
2. You'll see the registration form

Step 2: Choose a Username

• Usernames must be 4-24 characters
• Letters and numbers only (no spaces or special characters)
• Usernames are permanent and cannot be changed
• Choose wisely - this is your unique identifier!

Example valid usernames:

• musiclover42
• JohnDoe2024
• artist123

Step 3: Enter Your Email

• Use a valid email address you have access to
• You'll need to verify this email
• We'll send account updates and notifications here

Step 4: Create a Password

• Minimum 8 characters
• Use a strong, unique password
• Don't reuse passwords from other sites

Step 5: Verify Your Email

After registration:

1. Check your inbox for a verification email
2. Click the verification link
3. Your account is now active!

Note: Verification links expire after 1 hour. If yours expires, you can request a new one from the login page.

Logging In

Sign In Process

1. Click "Sign In" in the navigation
2. Enter your username or email
3. Enter your password
4. Click "Log In"

Tip: You can log in with either your username OR email address!

Display Name vs Username

Username

• Permanent and unchangeable
• Used for login
• Your unique identifier in the system
• Format: username123

Display Name

• Can be changed anytime
• Shown on your profile and comments
• Can include spaces and most characters
• Update it in your Profile Settings

Forgot Your Password?

Password Reset Process

1. Go to the Login page
2. Click "Forgot Password?"
3. Enter your email address
4. Check your email for a reset link
5. Click the link (valid for 1 hour)
6. Enter your new password
7. Log in with your new password

Can't find the email?

• Check your spam/junk folder
• Make sure you used the correct email address
• Wait a few minutes for the email to arrive
• Contact support if the email never arrives: hello@mstrjk.com

Troubleshooting Login Issues

"Invalid username or password"

• Double-check your username/email spelling
• Passwords are case-sensitive
• Try resetting your password
• Make sure Caps Lock is off

"Account not verified"

• Check your email for the verification link
• Click "Resend verification email" on the login page
• Check spam/junk folders

"Too many failed attempts"

• Wait 15 minutes before trying again
• This is a security feature to protect your account
• Use "Forgot Password" to reset if you're stuck

Account Security Tips

Create a strong password:

• Use at least 8 characters (longer is better!)
• Mix uppercase and lowercase letters
• Include numbers
• Use unique passwords for each site

Protect your account:

• Never share your password
• Log out on shared computers
• Don't click suspicious links in emails
• Contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
