Error messages are screen reader friendly

Color & Contrast

MSTRJK meets WCAG AA standards for color contrast to ensure readability for all users.

Contrast Features

High contrast text - All text meets 4.5:1 contrast ratio minimum
Color is not the sole indicator - Information is conveyed through multiple means (icons, text, patterns)
Visible focus indicators - Clear outlines on focused elements
Link differentiation - Links are underlined or clearly distinguished from body text

Low vision users: Try increasing your browser zoom (Ctrl/Cmd +) for better readability!

Text & Typography

Text is designed to be readable and resizable.

Text Features

Resizable up to 200% - Use browser zoom without losing functionality
Readable font sizes - Base text is 14-16px, headers are larger
Adequate line spacing - 1.5x line height for body text
Left-aligned text - Easier to read than justified text

Adjusting Text Size

Chrome, Firefox, Edge:

  • Zoom in: Ctrl + (Windows) or Cmd + (Mac)
  • Zoom out: Ctrl - (Windows) or Cmd - (Mac)
  • Reset: Ctrl 0 (Windows) or Cmd 0 (Mac)

Zoom & Magnification

The site works well with browser zoom and magnification tools.

Browser Zoom

Zoom up to 200% - All content remains accessible
No horizontal scrolling - Content reflows to fit screen
Interactive elements stay accessible - Buttons and links work at any zoom level

Magnification Tools

  • Windows Magnifier - Works seamlessly
  • Mac Zoom - Compatible (System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom)
  • ZoomText - Fully supported

Motion & Animation

We respect your motion preferences and avoid distracting animations.

Motion Features

Respects prefers-reduced-motion - System setting to reduce motion
No auto-playing animations - Animations require user interaction
No flashing content - Nothing that could trigger seizures
Smooth, gentle transitions - When animations are used, they're subtle

Reducing Motion

Windows 10/11:

  1. Settings > Ease of Access > Display
  2. Turn on "Show animations in Windows"

Mac:

  1. System Preferences > Accessibility > Display
  2. Check "Reduce motion"

Most browsers respect this system setting automatically!

Alternative Text for Images

All meaningful images include descriptive alt text.

What Has Alt Text

Album artwork - Artist and album name
Artist photos - Artist name and context
Profile pictures - Username or display name
Icon buttons - Function description (e.g., "Play", "Pause", "Skip")

Decorative images have empty alt text so screen readers skip them.

Forms & Error Handling

All forms are designed to be accessible and user-friendly.

Form Features

Clear labels - Every input has a visible label
Keyboard accessible - Tab through all fields
Error messages - Clear descriptions of what went wrong
Required fields marked - Asterisk or "(required)" indicator
Validation feedback - Real-time or on-submit validation

Error Messages

Error messages are:

  • Clearly worded and specific
  • Announced to screen readers
  • Positioned near the relevant field
  • Color-coded (but not color-only)
